The Mix Awards North 2024 proved to be one of the most anticipated reunions on the commercial interior design calendar—a dazzling celebration of innovation, creativity, and sustainability. With an impressive lineup of the industry’s best and electric entertainment to match, the event brought together the leading minds shaping the future of design.
This year saw another record-breaking number of entries showcasing cutting-edge project and product designs from the North of the UK and Ireland. We were thrilled to be named finalists for Project of the Year, standing alongside industry peers dedicated to crafting forward-thinking, sustainable, and impactful spaces.
Our project that epitomised this ethos was Lakeview, a standout for our team in so many ways. The brief challenged us to create an environment that seamlessly integrated connected businesses while empowering employees with flexible, task-specific settings. The resulting design struck a harmonious balance between functionality and aesthetics.
Through bold colour blocking, soft wood tones, textured carpets, and dynamic monochrome elements, we created a visually striking yet comfortable environment. This mix of materials and design elements reflected Lakeview’s dual emphasis on productivity and creativity. Sustainability remained at the heart of the project, with careful attention given to environmentally responsible practices throughout the process.
We were also delighted to see recognition for our valued suppliers, whose contributions are integral to our work. Amtico was named Manufacturer of the Year 2024 for its remarkable commitment to environmental and social responsibility. Meanwhile, Solus took home the Product of the Year award for their innovative use of repurposed demolition waste, crafted in partnership with the last remaining British terrazzo manufacturer operating at a commercial scale.
The Mix Awards North 2024 wasn’t just a celebration of individual achievements—it was a testament to the collective commitment of the interior design industry to lead the way in innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.
